An ideal location
in the heart of the Lyon Peninsula
in the heart of the Lyon Peninsula
Ideally located on the Presqu’île de Lyon (Lyon Peninsula) and a stone's throw from the Place Bellecour, the Republik Hotel is the ideal accommodation for discovering all the charms of Lyon on foot.
The temptations of the Saint Antoine Market, the most beautiful squares (such as the Place des Célestins, Place des Jacobins and Place des Terreaux ...), the best bouchons (those famed traditional Lyons restaurants) and some excellent museums ... You can travel throughout the city in a matter of minutes and discover all its treasures.
What there is to do in the area
The Republik Hôtel is located in a charming semi-pedestrianised street nestled in the heart of a lively district where the Lyonnais like to get together: the Hôtel Dieu. Here, the city's art of living is celebrated with good restaurants, terraces, attractive shops and much more ...
All around the hotel, the city’s cultural and gastronomic heritage is waiting for you. The Saint-Antoine Market, the Halles Bocuse indoor food market and the traditional Lyon bouchon eateries are well worth visiting and offer an array of temptations to delight gourmets. Art, history and culture lovers will be eager to explore the Confluences (science and anthropology), Tissus (textiles) and Fine Arts museums.
Throughout the year, the city's historic squares and monuments come alive to the delight of Lyonnais and tourists alike. So, don't miss out on discovering the astonishing Festival of Lights or the Nuits de Fourvière multidisciplinary arts festival which takes place in the city’s preserved Roman theatre.
Lyon is rich in surprises and reveals all its secrets when you stroll around and get to know it. Setting off from the hotel, simply allow yourself to wander the streets, particularly those of the Vieux-Lyon, the city’s oldest district, to discover all its attractions, or visit the Basilica de Notre-Dame de Fourvière, a 19th century place of worship which, perched atop a hill, overlooks the city and offers a magnificent view.
And if your schedule allows it, head out of the city to the pretty villages of Pérouges or Beaujolais, just a few minutes away by car. They are sure to win your heart.
